Enjoying the view from her new room

Helping with the Groceries

Gardening

Hands down, Izzy's #1 favorite sport, is digging up dirt. So I let her go at it and destroy this already wilted leftover marigold. It was a fair price for her to be entertained making a huge mess in the yard. Surprisingly, she's been more tame with the garden then I expected. But the tomato plants have to be watched very carefully!

Hangin' at the fun food bar.

Seen here sporting her new sparkly star summer kicks, this is one of our favorite places to hang. We have snacks here, read books, and for the first time today, broke out the crayons and paper. (Realizing that the proximity to the sofa is a bit close...)

Dining

It's still day to day, and very hit or miss with new foods for this lady. But we're making strides in the right direction. Finally I'm getting some green stuff in there, and this week her favorite food is Portobello Mushroom Raviolis! i will continue to persist and sneak all sorts of good things in there. And no one will argue with a little box of grape juice to wet the whistle from time to time.

Lovin' her new Rockin' Moose!!

Wabbit

Now don't be fooled, this child has no interest in veggies. But this was just enough entertainment with the long tails attached and vivid orange color that edible or not, it was going in the mouth. This just comically furthers her resemblance to Elmer Fudd.

Table Dancing

Now, I've always joked that the key to being a good parent is being sure that my daughter doesn't "end up on the pole", and that sounds easy enough. Little did I know that the table dancing would start at such an early age. I clearly have a long road ahead of me. I tried many times to discourage it, but she was determined to climb on up there. Then she pee'd on her cheese. And that's not an analogy. Literally, she pee'd on her cheese - which quickly ended her table dance for good.

Magic Blanket

I have discovered that this heavy and super soft chenille blanket is magic for Izzy. For some reason this blanket has secured much longer naps and even a 7 hour stretch the night before last! I'm slightly concerned that it's such a big blanket for a little person, but she doesn't seem to move an inch when under it's spell. So magic blanket it is, while the magic lasts!

"helpiing" in the garden

While working on the house in Reseda to get it ready to rent,. Izzy's favorite activity has been digging in the dirt. We are working hard to allow her this pleasure while not disturbing the lovely garden that the previous tenants left behind. She's beginning to work on climbing onto things and pulling herself up. And the duck floating the pool in the backyard has been entertaining and torture at the same time. "DOOOOO!!"

The Pointer

We were out today for a jaunt across elysian park, when it came to my attention, that izzy's a pointer now! every bird, dog and child that was in her view was in her pointer laser beam! oh what an exciting world to discover! so much so that pointing even won over afternoon naps for the last two days. phew!

Crawling is old hat now....

Heeeere we go! She's now pulling herself up. So long as something as enticing as dirt is available.

Parking Lot Picnic

The "road trip" has significantly changed while considering a miniature person. Driving and stopping based on nap schedule rather than day light or our own hunger made things a little more slow paced. Which was rather enjoyable I must say. Even if that slow pace was sitting on a patch of grass next to a motel where we chilled out with our deli sandwiches and snacks - read a trashy mag, played some ball, and seth caught a smoke. it was a lovely afternoon before meandering our way home through the palm desert.

Hangin' with Dad

Seth knows how to have fun with Izzy, and wasn't shy about crawling into her little person ball room. It was supposed to be her birthday present, but we couldn't resist the fun sitting packed up in a box for another six weeks. And really, it's the gift that keeps on giving.
